Mug Warmer

Mug Warmer

To say I drink a lot of coffee might be an understatement. I use a lot of large mugs because I hate to get up and down to get fresh coffee every ten minutes. I find that if I use a smaller mug, my coffee gets cold very fast, especially in the winter months when my home isn’t as warm as I would like it to be. For Christmas last year, someone got me a mug warmer. I didn’t like the idea of a hot plate sitting on my desk because I have a child under five, but I think this year I might be able to get out my mug warmer and give it a go. I just might like it.

A mug warmer is essentially a hot plate that plugs into the wall. They are meant to keep your mug warm so you don’t have to reheat your coffee all the time. In the months when the air in your home might be a little colder, these might be a blessing. For someone like me, a mug warmer might even be a huge time saver. As I sit at my desk and work, my coffee gets cold. It is a waste of my time to get up and down just to reheat it. It might save me some time and some money, now that I think about it.

You don’t have to use a mug warmer for coffee. It could be used for just about anything. If you have a ceramic bowl filled with your favorite soup, it might just help keep it warm. You could also use it for hot chocolate or hot tea. Just remember to read the instructions, and never put anything on the mug warmer that might melt or break. Ceramic items should be fine, but I’m not sure if putting glass on a mug warmer is a good idea. The instructions that come with a mug warmer should let you know what you can do and what to avoid, along with any other safety issues that may pop up.

If you know someone who loves to drink coffee or tea, a mug warmer might be a great gift. They normally aren’t very expensive, but make sure you are getting a quality item. Things that create heat and use electricity can cause accidents, so spend a little more for a mug warmer that might be a little safer. Remember to keep little hands away from a mug warmer, and never leave it on when you aren’t in the room.
